COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

One the PTG's top priorities is to continue to build a strong McGlynn parent community. We have lots of initiatives to move us towards this goal including: a FREE Family Events, building a Parent Directory, and making the PTG more accessible with things like this website.

IN SCHOOL PRESENTATIONS

The PTG helps to organize and fund presentations in the school. Last year we had Kindness Quest Laser Assembly and Tanglewood Marionettes. We even had George the Magician make an appearance on Fun Day.

FUN DAY

In June the PTG sponsors Fun Day. This is a great way for the students to celebrate a successful school year. Fun Day promotes physical education, team work, and FUN. Our AMAZING physical education teacher, Meg Richard, plans a terrific day for the students. The PTG provides support with funds and volunteers.

TEACHER DRIVEN PROJECTS

This year the PTG is piloting a program to encourage our teachers to innovate by giving them small grants towards projects they care about. We have put aside $2000 which we plan to give out in $200 increments to teachers who fill out our short online proposal form. We will be reviewing proposals at General PTG Meetings.

TEACHER APPRECIATION

An important part of our mission is appreciating the hard work of our dedicated teachers. We try to do this several ways throughout the school year. At the end of each year the PTG sponsors Teacher Appreciation events. Last year, teachers were celebrated for a full week with a Hollywood theme. This included a star studded breakfast, a popcorn and movie snack day and a sit down luncheon.
