Weekly Updates November 27th

Updated: Dec 11, 2018

Next PTG General Meeting is Tuesday, December 4th. Check out what's on the agenda.

Take a look at the minutes from our November 7th Meeting.

Fundraising

Scrip Gift Cards- Our Annual Scrip Gift Card fundraiser is running now until December 10th. Flyers and order forms went home in student folders last week. Why not get your gift cards from the PTG and get a percentage back for our students? If you have any questions, please contact Vivian Su (viversu@gmail.com).

Lyman Pie and Breads Delivery- Thank you to everyone who helped with the Lyman Pie Delivery! It was all hands on deck last Tuesday to make sure families got their pies and breads before Thanksgiving. Special thanks to Sharon Tomasulo, Karey Cropper, and Brenda Smith who showed up at 7am to sort pies. We also couldn't have done it without Jackie Flynn, Renee Hanley, and Marissa Isbill who hung out for the day to help distribute pies. Finally, thank you to all the McGlynn families who sold pies! We raised $1,248 to put towards sending our students on field trips!

Texas Roadhouse RESCHEDULED- The Texas Roadhouse dine-in night has been rescheduled to December 11th. This means you still have time to get your Texas Roadhouse gift card. We get 20% of all gift card sales! We also get 20% of the proceeds from the dine-in night. If you have any questions, please email Vivian Su (viversu@gmail.com).

Disney Raffle- The Disney Raffle continues across Medford! If you have turned in an order form, you can expect your ticket stubs over the next couple weeks. If you need more order forms print away! Raffle tickets continue to be sold at events around the city. The McGlynn PTG will be sponsoring tables at MetroRock and Salem Street Studio. If you have time to volunteer at one of these events, please let us know via the sign up list.

Mustang Spirit Store Design Contest- The Spirit Store received 10 entries for the sweatshirt design contest! Thank you Lian Lam (5th), Ashley Texiera (2nd), Sarah Grace Hughes (3rd), Christina Marques Fabris (1st), Cooper Su (5th), Maya Rose Hughes (5th), Jayson Lemmons (2nd), Teagan Altman (5th), Zahara (unknown) for submitting designs. We have some very talented artist at the McGlynn! The winner will be announced at school sometime this week. Everyone who submitted a design will receive a Mustang water bottle and sports bag! We plan to have sweatshirts printed over the next couple weeks to sell in time for the holidays. If you would like to reserve a sweatshirt in your size, please email Marissa Isbill (joytenn23@hotmail.com) with your request.

Mustang Spirit Store goes SQUARE!- The Spirit Store now accepts credit cards through Square. You can also order though our online store. There will be a 2.75% convenience fee on purchase made with credit cards. The PTG will also be able to use Square to take donations and accept payment for other fundraisers.

Mustang Spirit Store Holiday Pop-up- We will be doing a holiday pop-up store in the PTG room during the week before the holiday break. This will be an opportunity for shoppers to come in and buy Spirit Store merchandise. We plan to have sweatshirts with our new designs, car magnets with the kindness heart, and all of our other great Mustang Spirit items. Stay tuned for exact date and times.

Box Tops- The PTG is running a Box Tops contest from now until December 14th. Students are asked to complete a Box Top Contest entry form with 10 Box Tops or dimes to be entered into a drawing for a prize. The classroom who collects the most Box Tops will also get a prize. Forms will be distributed to classrooms this week or can be printed from this link. Our goal this year is to raise $1,000 from Box Tops. If we can pull together as a community and reach this goal, the PTG will give the whole school a prize on Fun Day!

Community Engagement

The McGlynn Celebrates Thanksgiving- The McGlynn community celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday in many ways last week. The Kindergarten did a presentation for their parents, the 1st grade had their Colonial Breakfast and Thanksgiving show, and the school did a super successful food drive for local families. We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
