Weekly Updates November 19th
Updated: Nov 23, 2018
Next PTG General Meeting is December 4th.
Check out the minutes from our November 7th Meeting.
We've raised a little over $5,000 so far this year - thank you! The PTG plans to spend $8,300 on field trips this year, so we still have work to do.
Fundraising

Scrip Gift Cards- Our Annual Scrip Gift Card fundraiser is running now until December 10th. Flyers and order forms went home in student folders last week. Why not get your gift cards from the PTG and get a percentage back for our students? If you have any questions, please contact Vivian Su (viversu@gmail.com).
Lyman Pie and Breads Delivery- The Lyman Pies and Bread will be delivered Tuesday, November 20th. Items will be available for pick up from 8:15am to 6pm. Thank you to everyone who supported McGlynn students by buying and selling pies. We sold 214 items and raised $1,248 to put towards sending McGlynn students on field trips.
Texas Roadhouse RESCHEDULED- The Texas Roadhouse dine-in night has been rescheduled to December 11th. This means you still have time to get your Texas Roadhouse gift card. We get 20% of all gift card sales! We also get 20% of the proceeds from the dine-in night. If you have any questions, please email Vivian Su (viversu@gmail.com).
Disney Raffle- The Disney Raffle is in full swing across Medford! If you have filled up an order form, please turn it in so we can return your ticket stubs. If you need more order forms print away! Raffle tickets continue to be sold at events around the city. The McGlynn PTG will be sponsoring tables at MetroRock and Salem Street Studio. If you have time to volunteer at one of these events, please let us know via the sign up list.
Mustang Spirit Store- The Spirit Store received 6 entries for the sweatshirt design contest! We plan to distribute Spirit Store orders next week and hope to have a new sweatshirt for holiday season. Stayed tuned for more information on our December pop up store and a new online store!
Jingle Bell Run- This past Sunday, McGlynn community members participated in the Medford Jingle Bell Run to raise money to support the PTG. It was a fun event for all! A special thank you to Stephaine Tapia, Rene Hanley, and Kim Munyon for getting sponsors and organizing our efforts.
Box Tops- The PTG is running a Box Tops contest from now until December 14th. Students are asked to complete a Box Top Contest entry form with 10 Box Tops or dimes to be entered into a drawing for a prize. The classroom who collects the most Box Tops will also get a prize. Forms will be distributed to classrooms this week or can be printed from this link. Our goal this year is to raise $1,000 from Box Tops. If we can pull together as a community and reach this goal, the PTG will give the whole school a prize on Fun Day!
Community Engagement
Room Parents- The first Room Parent Day was Friday, November 16th. Room Parent volunteers and teachers have been working together to bring parents into the classroom. Room parent activities will continue over the next few weeks. If you are a room parent, please pass along pictures from your time in the classroom.

Coffee with the Principal- The Medford Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) sponsored Coffee with the Principal last Wednesday. It was a great opportunity for parents to spend time with our principal Mrs. Diane Guarino. Parents got the chance to ask questions and voice concerns. Mrs. Guarino made it clear that her door was always open to parents. If you have anything you would like to talk to the principal about, don't hesitate to give her a call at 781-393-2333 x5518 or email her at dguarino@medford.k12.ma.us. Thank you SEPAC, specifically Ann Herzog-Rousseau and Esterlina Macinnas, for organizing this event!
