Texas Roadhouse RESCHEDULED- The Texas Roadhouse dine-in night has been rescheduled to December 11th. This means you still have time to get your Texas Roadhouse gift card. We get 20% of all gift card sales! We also get 20% of the proceeds from the dine-in night. If you have any questions, please email Vivian Su (viversu@gmail.com).

Election Day Bake Sale- The Election Day Bake Sale was a huge success! We raised $763 towards sending McGlynn students on field trips. A big thanks to everyone who donated their time and baked goods. You all rock!

City-wide PTO Ice Skating Fundraiser- The City-wide PTO Ice Skating Fundraiser raised $178.75 for each elementary school in Medford and all the kids had a great time skating. A big thanks to Sharon Tomasulo for representing the McGlynn at the event.

Disney Raffle- The Disney Raffle is in full swing across Medford. If you have filled up an order form, please turn it in so we can return your ticket stubs. If you need more order forms you can print right from here. Raffle tickets continue to be sold at events around the city. The McGlynn PTG will be sponsoring tables at MetroRock and Salem Street Studio. If you have time to volunteer at one of these events, please let us know via the sign up list.

Mustang Spirit Store- The Spirit Store has started to receive entries for the sweatshirt design contest. We hope to get a cool new design for sweatshirts in time for Christmas. Spirit Store order forms also went out in folders this week. Both design contest entries and Spirit Store orders are due back November 16th.

Jingle Bell Run- There is still time to sign up for the Jingle Bell Run. If you know of any local businesses who might be interested in sponsoring us, please reach out to Renee Hanley (renee.hanley06@gmail.com )

Box Tops- The PTG will be running a Box Tops Contest from now until December 14th. Students are asked to complete a Box Top Contest entry form with 10 box tops or dimes to be entered into a drawing for a prize. The classroom who collects the most box tops will also get a prize. Forms will be distributed to classrooms this week or can be printed from this link. Our goal this year is to raise $1,000 in Box Tops. If we can pull together as a community and reach this goal, the PTG will give the whole school a prize on Fun Day!

Enrichment

After School Programs- The first session of the "Escape the Classroom" after school program aimed at teaching 4th graders math skills was a huge success. Many thanks to Karey Cropper, Kristine Hunt, Michael Ruggiero, and Jared MacLeod for their work in getting this program going!

Community Engagement

Annual Thanksgiving Day Food Drive- Starting Monday, November 5th, the McGlynn Elementary will be collecting non-perishable foods or monetary donations to help support Medford families in need. All donations will be distributed to Medford area organizations to help local residents. Let's pull together as a community to make a difference in our city. The collection will continue until Friday, November 16th.

Room Parents- First Room Parent Day will be this Friday, November 16th. Room Parent volunteers should be coordinating with their teachers and fellow Room Parents. If you have any questions about the Room Parent program, please reach out to Renee Hanley (renee.hanley06@gmail.com) .

Coffee with the Principal- The Medford Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is sponsoring Coffee with the Principal this Wednesday, November 14th from 8:30-9:30am in the McGlynn PTG room. This is an opportunity for parents to spend time with our principal Mrs. Diane Guarino. Maybe you have a question, a concern, or just want to tell her what a great job she's doing? We hope to you see you Wednesday morning.

Wear Blue for Diabetes- On Wednesday, November 14th, the McGlynn Elementary School will join forces with the Builder's Club of the McGlynn Middle School to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Students are asked to wear anything blue and bring $1 to donate to the cause.
