Weekly Updates May 14th

Check out the minutes from our April 24th Meeting.

Our final PTG General Meeting will be May 23rd. During this meeting, we will review what we've done this year, vote on a budget for next year, and elect two treasurers to the executive board. We have FREE CHILDCARE to make it easier for parents to attend.

Communications

PTG Recruitment- The PTG is recruiting for the next year. We currently have both Treasurer positions open for the 2019-2020 school year and will hold an election at our May 23rd meeting. If being on the executive board seems like too much, there are all kinds of ways to contribute to our community. Check out all the roles needed to make the work of the PTG happen in the McGlynn PTG Volunteer Positions 2019-2020 descriptions. If you have a few extra hours a month and want help us bring enrichment and community to the McGlynn Elementary School, please contact Bailey Schendell (execboard@mcglynnptg.org).

End of the Year Dates- With the last day of school set for June 13th, the dates for end of the year activities keep shifting. We are continuously updating our McGlynn PTG 2018-2019 Schedule. You can check it out online via the link above or on our bulletin board in the PTG Room at the school. If you use Google Calendar, you can subscribe to the McGlynn Elementary Google PTG Calendar.

Community Engagement

Teacher Appreciation- Our community worked extra hard last week to appreciate our hard working teachers. Thank you to everyone who donated time, baked goods, and money to make it a great week for the McGlynn Elementary Staff. We were able to put on a Staff Breakfast, Chocolate-fest, Thirsty Thursday, and a Staff Luncheon. We had donations from all over the city to do teacher raffles. Each teacher also received a McGlynn Elementary lanyard and "Kindness" reusable shopping bag. The feedback from the teachers was they felt really cared about. Check out all the Teacher Appreciation Fun in this google photo album.

Fun Day- Fun Day is scheduled for Friday, June 7th. Fun Day is the McGlynn's version of field day. There is a bunch of outdoor activities, including bouncy houses, a dunk tank, and balloon toss. We are going to need a lot of parent volunteers to make this day happen! If you are interested in volunteering, please make sure you have a CORI on file with the school. CORI must be completed every year. You can download a CORI Form and send it with a copy of your photo ID in your child's communications folder.
