Weekly Updates March 4th

Take a look at the minutes from our February 26th Meeting.

Next PTG General Meeting is Monday, March 25th. We have FREE CHILDCARE to make it easier for parents to attend.

Thanks to everyone's efforts, we are doing a great job. Our fundraising is $7,000 above where we were last year at this time! Check out this chart comparing fundraising this year to last year.

Fundraising

Harlem Wizards Game- The Harlem Wizard's Game is next week! If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, you can order them online at harlemwizards.com. Next Wednesday, the Wizards will play the Medford All Stars, a team of teachers from all four Medford Elementary Schools. From the McGlynn, we will have Mr. Petrelis, Mr. G.S., Mrs. Bello, Ms. O'Brien, and Ms. Hunt. This fundraiser is sponsored by the City-Wide PTO and all proceeds will be divided equally among Medford's four elementary schools. We are also looking for volunteers to help out selling concessions at the game. Contact Renee Hanley (renee.hanley06@gmail.com) if you are interested.

Scholastic Book Fair- This week is the Scholastic Book Fair in the school library. Students had a preview day on Friday and made wish list to take home. Family Night will be this Wednesday, March 6th from 6-7:30pm. Mustang Baked Goods and the Mustang Spirit Shop will also be making an appearance. This would not be possible without all the wonderful volunteers who have given their time to work the fair. A special thanks to Sharon Tomasulo, who organized the Book Fair and to the school librarians who are letting us use their space. The PTG gets a percentage of all sales. We plan to put at least $1000 of our earns towards new books for the school library! If you have questions, please reach out to Sharon (sharon@tomasulo.net).

Sky Zone Fundraiser- We don't yet have word on how the Sky Zone Fundraiser did as far as raising money but the kids that attended had a bunch of fun!

World's Finest Chocolates- The PTG is still selling the World's Finest Chocolate Bars though the end of March. So far we have raised $397 for our students with this fundraiser. If you would like to order MORE chocolate please reach out to Renee Hanley (renee.hanley06@gmail.com) or pick up an order form in the office.

First McGlynn Elementary Read-a-thon - Our First McGlynn Elementary Read-a-thon was a huge success! 112 students participated and raised $5221 for our school. The winners were announced at the end of last week so they could spend their prizes at the Book Fair. We could not be more thankful to Sharon Tomasulo and Mrs. Collins for taking on the Read-a-thon for the McGlynn!

Enrichment

LEGO Club is coming to the McGlynn- The Enrichment Committee is working on bring a LEGO Club to the McGlynn this Spring. The club would be for K-1 and run for 8 weeks, most likely on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. We are currently recruiting a parent volunteer whose child could attend the club for FREE. Contact Karey Cropper at enrichment@mcglynnptg.org if you are interested.
