We are continuously updating our McGlynn PTG 2018-2019 Schedule. You can check it out online via the link above or on our bulletin board in the PTG Room at the school. If you use Google Calendar, you can subscribe to the McGlynn Elementary Google PTG Calendar.
Harlem Wizards Game- The Harlem Wizard's Game was a big success! As a city, we sold 880 tickets. We made a profit of $10,242 from souvenirs and tickets, as well as approximately $1,000 from concessions. This means that each elementary school will get about $2,800 from this fundraiser! It was a great night for our whole community. Thank you to Mr. Petrelis, Mr. G.S., Mrs. Bello, Ms. O'Brien, Ms. Hunt, and Jessica Zamora (1st grade parent) for representing the McGlynn.
Scholastic Book Fair- The Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success! Thanks to our many parent volunteers who staffed the book fair for both the elementary and middle school. We were able to give each library $750 to add books to the school library collection. Through parent donations, we were also able to provide the teachers with all the books in their wish baskets! In addition, we made approximately $3,000 in cash for our school. We should have more firm numbers on our book fair success next week. A special thanks to Sharon Tomasulo who worked so hard to coordinate such a great event for our school!
World's Finest Chocolates- The PTG is still selling the World's Finest Chocolate Bars though the end of March. So far we have raised $397 for our students with this fundraiser. If you would like to order MORE chocolate, please reach out to Renee Hanley (firstname.lastname@example.org) or pick up an order form in the office.
Ice Cream Social- We have tentatively scheduled our Ice Cream Social for May 16th. If you you are interested in being on the planning committee, please reach out to Bailey Schendell (email@example.com).
Spellman Stamp Museum visited the 5th grade- The 5th grade learned the history of the Postal Service, and the story of society, cultures, and identity through postage stamps this month with a visit from the director of the Spellman Stamp Museum.
Fun Day- Fun Day is tentatively scheduled for Friday, June 7th. Fun Day is the McGlynn's version of field day. There is a bunch of outdoor activities including bouncy houses, dunk tank, and balloon toss. We are going to need a lot of parent volunteers to make this day happen! If you are interested in volunteering, please make sure you have a CORI on file with the school. CORI must be completed every year. You can download a CORI Form and send it with a copy of your photo ID in your child's communications folder.
