Weekly Update - October 21st
Box Tops - We have a school wide goal to raise $1,000 through the Box Tops program this year. If we reach this goal, the PTG will sponsor a prize for the whole school! Please submit all Box Tops you have by October 23rd for our first school year submission!! Thank you Viviana Perdomo and Michelle Lemmons for taking on the Box Tops Coordinator position together for us.
Disney Raffle - The McGlynn had the honor of kicking off the citywide PTO Disney Raffle at the Fall Family Dance. We sold 37 tickets towards the our school’s goal of 1,250 tickets. Next week, we will distribute information about selling tickets. Check out the raffle rules for more details and please let us know if you are interested in helping coordinate this raffle.
Jingle Bell Run - The McGlynn is putting together a team for the run. If you would like to support us, please choose our school at registration. If you know of any local businesses who would be willing to sponsor us, please get in touch with Stephanie Tapia or Renee Hanley (firstname.lastname@example.org). We are also selling raffle tickets!
Room Parents - The first Room Parent Day will be November 16. If you have volunteered to be a room parent and haven’t heard from us, please contact Renee Hanley (email@example.com) and make sure you have filled out a CORI form.
Ethnic Pride Week - On Wednesday, October 24, we recognize the USA during Ethnic Pride Week. We will be collecting money for Hurricane Michael Relief fund to aid our fellow citizens ravaged by this disaster. We ask students to donate $1.00 or spare change.
Mustang Spirit Shop - Keep an eye out in your child’s communication folders for Spirit shop order forms. Please return the form and payment by Nov. 2. We plan to distribute the orders the first week of November. Thank you Marissa Isbill for taking on the Spirit Store Coordinator position.
Texas Roadhouse- The PTG will be selling Texas Roadhouse gift cards from October 22nd to November 5th. We will get 20% of all gift card sales! McGlynn Elementary dine in night at the Texas Roadhouse will be November 12th. We get 20% of the proceeds from the night. Hope to see you all there.
Enrichment - Ms. Griffin received the “big yellow school bus” grant for this year. It’s $250 offered by the Mass Cultural Council for transportation. Ms. Griff also received a full scholarship from the Museum of Science for a third grade field trip and $350 towards the bus!
