Bi-Weekly Updates October 23rd

We have decided to move the updates to a bi-weekly schedule but will be continuing to reach out the community with information about specific events as it comes up. Thank you for your patiences. Please feel free to reach out to with any questions.

The next PTG general meeting will be Wednesday, November 13th. You can catch up on what happened at our last meeting by reading the minutes.


Room Parent Day- Our first Room Parent Day is Friday November 1st. If you have signed up to be a Room Parent but haven't heard from us please reach out to Renee Hanley ( If you are interested in volunteering in your child's classroom a few times over the next year, you can still sign up here.


Hip Hop comes to McGlynn After school- The Hip Hop class starts next week. It is open to students in grades 1-3 and taught by Boston Mobile Dance Studio. The session will run for 6 weeks, from November 1st to December 13th. The cost is $72 per student. There is still time to sign your student up. If you are interested you can email with you students name, teacher and grade, your name and contact details.

After School Sword Games- There is still time to sign up for Sword Games! Fourth and fifth graders, join us for 5 Thursdays of foam swords and fun! Heroes learn courage, compassion, and honor, as well as how to solve problems, battle monsters, survive a duel, and help your teammates. You can sign your student up to for this after school adventure by filling out this form. We will prorate the cost for late signups.


Annual Pie and Bread Fundraiser- The Pie and Bread Fundraiser is in full swing. If you have any questions please reach out to Renee Hanley (

Jingle Bell Run- We would love to have a good showing at the Jingle Bell Run this year. Last year we raised $886 though sponsorships and participants choose Mcglynn PTG as their charity when registering. If you want to be part of our McGlynn Team you can register for the race here. Mustang Spirit Shop- The Mustang Spirit Store provides everything you need to show your McGlynn Mustang Spirit. This year we have created an online store as well as expanded our merchandise. You can also order merchandise by filling out this form and sending in with your child. 

Textile Recycle Bin- Do you have old clothing, shoes, or curtains you need to get rid of? Drop off your textiles, whatever the condition, any time in the white bin in the school parking lot marked “McGlynn Elementary.". The PTG gets paid by the pound for whatever is in the bin. Amazon Smile- Everyone orders from Amazon!! The PTG asks for your support by selecting the McGlynn Elementary Parent Teacher Group by logging on to By doing so, Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to the McGlynn PTG which in turn will be used to fund fun and enriching activities for our students.

Community Engagement

Cultural Appreciation Week and Night- This week is Cultural Appreciation week at the McGlynn Elementary. Check out all the cool activities we have going on to celebrate our diverse community. On Thursday the PTG will be sponsoring our first ever Cultural Appreciation Night. The McGlynn community will be sharing information about our different cultures. The evening will include a display of cultural artifacts, Irish storytelling, and an "Ask me anything" panel with parents from differents from different cultural background. Thank you to all the McGlynn Families who have stepped up to make this evening great. We hope to make this a Mcglynn tradition. Hope to see you tomorrow!
